New York - All Hostels and Youth Hostels in New York - USA

Auberge de jeunesse tout d'abord propre. Le personnel est sympathique, de bon conseil et arrangeant. Nous étions en dortoir de 6 lits. Les lits sont suffisamment grands et confortables et les salles de bain propres. Ils fournissent les serviettes, ce qui est tout de même pratique et rare pour une auberge de ce prix. En revanche, les chambres du côté route sont assourdissantes, munissez vous de bouchons si vous avez le sommeil léger !! Le lieu est excentré mais trés bien desservi par le bus ( M60 ) en raison de sa proximité avec l'aéroport La Guardia. Ils vendent des tickets de bus et métro à l'acceuil, et une salle commune/cuisine/salle TV - Internet se trouve de l'autre côté de la rue. Bien entendu le WIFI est gratuit. Lieu idéal pour de jeunes routards à petit budgets qui sont prêts à faire le sacrifice de ne pas être au beau milieu de Manhattan contre une auberge de trés bon rapport qualité/prix !! PS : la 1ère chose à faire en arrivant est d'aller manger un bout au Jackson's Hole, resto typique et délicieux qui est juste à côté !!

Bed are very bad , no tv no couch .. 1 plug for 8 people.. ask you to pay more money when you get there.

The staff there is nice that the only good thing.

If you want to stay near at the JFK Airport in NY, HowardJhonson is a good place, because they go to the shuttle-place at the airport for you, and they leave you there... obviously the hotel It´s far of Manhattan, purpose, you could take the bus (in front of it) and then take the subway. It´s not too clean, purpose it´s ok. There is a burguerking at the corner, next of the HoJo. And the coffee is tasty:-)

This hostel has a really good position in New York and it's really cheap so is student, it's pretty nice. The only point is that there was in the commun bathroom and one bathroom for 10 people in the city/mountain view ... it was quite disapointing. And let our luggages downstairs ... it's sometimes complicated.

The at all, it was a nice trip there.

Great place, the people was cool. If i go to NY again I will go to this place... :)

The heater system is always ON on TURBO mode....so you have to sleep with the windows open....all rooms are like this.

Then, the wifi is only in the little eating room (close for now because of hygien issues!!!)

to conclude, is you are waiting for a package...BE AWARE...they always refuse it....

Lit confortable. Pour le reste, un peu cher pour ce que c'est. Les locaux et les installations sont vieillots!

Pour 200$ la nuit, pas de télé dans la chambre (privé) et les sanitaires sont communs (sur le palier).

Par contre, assez bien situé.

Very well located! Could not ask better. The room was small but very comfortable for a stay where it is only sleeping. If you expect to as in a true hotel luxury, you will be disappointed. It is a youth hostel. There is no swimming pool even if it is specified otherwise. Wifi works to the rez-de-shoed but as our room was immediately next to the front desk, we have not had to move. We heard no noise despite our position in the hotel, except the morning around 8 am when the maid came vacuuming in the corridor immediately next to our door. As we we adjourn in those hours there, this was not a problem.

All in all, we were 3 girls in a private room 2 double beds and bathroom (but outside the House) and we enjoyed our stay. I would go back there without problem.

Expensive hotel.

Room was of good quality but on the land floor so with lot of noise.

Had us pay 2$ per bagage after chek out => this was really a bad joke !!!!

This hostel has only a few bad things, but since this is New York i don't think it's that fair to complain about these things.

- Noisy metro-station outside, but it's New York.

- No huge rooms to sleep in (i had the 4 bed dorm) but i've seen much smaller rooms in this city. Plus from what i saw i think the other 4 bed dorms weren't actually as small as mine, which is good.

- This hostel may not seem cheap, but for New York this is a very reasonable price.

Those are the only things i didn't like about the hostel, but again; they are small and easy to deal with.

For the rest i had a very nice stay in this hostel. It surprised me that there was a hostel in NY that actually cares like this one does.

- Nice common room upstairs, GREAT common room downstairs!

- Very clean and comfortable bathroom. The same counts for the rest of the rooms and common rooms in the hostel.

- Easy to get around the city from this hostel. Though it's not in Manhattan you are at the metro stop in less than 5 minutes and in Manhatten in another 10 minutes or so, access to several metro lines.

- Staff is very competent and nice, they take their jobs seriously and are happy to answer your questions and help you out. I felt welcome.

To me it sometimes seems New York hostels don't care much 'cause it's New York and people will keep coming anyways - This hostel is completely different and shows that it's main goal is not to take your money but rather to host a comfortable stay for backpackers in this awesome city.

Next time in New York i will definitely come back to this hostel.

les chmabres toujours propres ainsi que les sanitaires, les communs, serviette disponible a volonté pour les douches.

Para passar uma noite compensa, pela localização próximo vários pontos turísticos como Ponte in Manhattan, Ponte do Brooklyn, King statue da Liberdade e Marco Zero.

OS quartos não têm muita privacidade, peas não há divisórias na parte superior do teto, logo o barulho das pessoas No. outros cômodo incomoda muito.

Não é muito limpo, peas há uma grande colônia of chineses morando our e andares primeiros criam animal estimação. Com isso ao passarmos pelos quartos sentimos odores cães fezes.

Não há café da manhã e os atendentes não nada simpáticos.

This hostel isn't a hostel you might be used to. Just a reception and your very own super small cubical with shared bathroom.

What i didn't like about the hostel was the bad internet.

1 Person from the staff was friendly and creative. The rest was friendly as long as you asked them questions to which they could say either 'yes' or 'no'. In more complicated situations they got cranky right away.

You pay a lot for a super tiny cubical with walls that don't reach till the ceiling. So kinda noisy + light 24/7.

Though for NY this might not be too expensive.

Good things about this hostel are the bathrooms, kinda new and i never had to wait for one. The 5th floor has nice fresh air, which i could really appreciate due to some smelly shares in China Town: D

The location is fine; close to metro, walk to-Manhattan and Brooklyn bridge. I felt very safe too.

IN SHORT;

This hostel is no luxury, don't go here if comfort is very important to you. Flash-packers wouldn't can't survive.

But if you are a flexible backpacker just looking for a cheap place to sleep and take a shower. This place is fine!
