Auberge très agréable et propre, lieu insolite et personnel très agréable et disponible. Mais l'auberge est un peu excentrée et le froid rapelle que nous sommes dans une église.

It was a brilliant place. Loved everything about it. Was good and well maintained. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and informative. The rooms even had reasonable sized lockers that would take in even our backpacks. Would have liked the location to be a little more central as it took a 15-20 minute walk to reach the Princes Street. Other than that all was great, the common room was also good as it had a nice cosy atmosphere with kitchen facilities, TV lounge and billiard table etc. Not to mention the Wi-fi connection which was very important to communicate with family. Overall, brilliant place....!! Definitely recommend anyone and everyone going to Edinburgh for a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

The idea of sleeping in a church enchanted me. the result is enchanting. Not of ventilation, too wet, too much noise, no curfew so we all pleased to be awakened once at 2 in the morning, then at 5 pm, without counting the number of doors suddenly claquees and music far too strong in their living room / bar just below the dormitories. Contrary to what has been said in other comments, I think that the sheets are washed but moisture and lack of ventilation are such that the stench permeates throughout. Mattresses are of very poor quality and should be changed. girls showers are far from the dilapidated dormitories and always very poorly ventilated so extreme humidity. Managers often put a fire extinguisher to block the door open but showers knowing that men go to linen washing, we are left with the happy surprise out of the shower in his most simple device and find the large door open at the sight of all. It imagines an idyllic setting, are found in armored beds mini-chambres, in a high-spirited, noisy and smelly. It's good for small youth who do not want to sleep but for others, I warns. The worst Youth Hostel in which I went to, and yet it was that I had the most desire to discover... Like what...

Location in the upper town in the immediate vicinity of several monuments of the town including its famous Castle, shops and buses. Hostel in it even has all the facilities (kitchen, dishes, breakfast room) to cope. With regard to rooms (that we), the sheets are clean, towels, shower also but the set is very small. On the other hand blankets and pillows are of dubious cleanliness. Similarly, but there people staying there are also responsible for, the overall cleanliness of the hostel is average.

friendly and very well located Youth Hostel

Après avoir passé 15 jours en tente ça a été le paradis! Nuit peu paisible à cause du bruit des chambres voisines et le métro... Bon rapport qualité/prix!

The place has perfect location (literally in the heart of the city centre) and the staff were really nice and helpful. the rooms are quite clean. the only thing i would say was causing discomfort was the lack of hot water in the morning. Nevertheless, will recommend the place.

90% For money very well.

We traveled by the term of a month, staying in many hostel throughout Europe, and I can pass my experience on aspects to compare between several hostels. Scores 0 to 100: room: 50% at least the cochon in which I slept that night not resulted anything comodo, was defeated and was felt surface not is Springs if or...

Bath: 50% had bad luck with the shower that I chose and tapeworms that constantly pressing a button came out hot water, cold pass. The bathroom if it was clean.

Breakfast: not 100% is free, you have to pay I think 2 lbs, but is the modest looked, in all ways hostel has a well-equipped kitchen and the possibility to prepare your own breakfast as well as meals.

location: 90% not this central but 10 minutes walk quiet, becomes the Center.

Internet: 100% has a living room (reception area) very wide, where they have many outlets, and wifi, the signal is good and is not cut.

other aspects: reception: 70% the receptionist was correct, but too serious to my mind, also take less that not they knew a little at least Spanish since English do not handle neither my wife nor I.

Motto: 100% have a room to store suitcases and backpacks after check out, where this laundry and has surveillance camera which gives some security to leave your things.

As overall rating (for a demanding user, that I consider myself hehe): 80%

It is a pity that lack of sanitary because 2 wc and 3 showers per floor for approximately 50 people it is null.

He misses the breakfast included in tariff.

Otherwise the nice home and well positioned hotel.

Disappointing, very disappointing, too expensive for what it is, especially after having spent the night in front to the Backpackers Calédonian (excellent and cheaper).

It is turning back to the entered for arriving 15 minutes before the time... provided it waited in the street... If If! The Manager is not sympathetic, not evil, but almost it apologize of the disturbed.

The rooms as Choco: "Small and uncomfortable rooms (pathetic mattress)".

Everything is small, the kitchen is the scuffle and he did there not really space meals except small round tables next to the pool and under the staircase in the hall entered. It is very badly fired (showers, toilets and space dry hair give in entered the hall, and therefore to the table where we eat). The Deco is non-existent or rather sinister, ducoup, it is without step comfortable and has a view it is quickly leave and it is the opinion of several people gold of my stay.

Last point: 2 TV screens are on non-stop in the entered and the hall of stairs with a clip of music of m * running loop.

First experience in youth hostel and really not disappointed!

Very well located in the heart of Edinburgh, 5 minutes from the Castle, the National Museum, of all of the city's busiest streets.

The hostel in it even is impeccable, nothing to say about the dorms and bathrooms, common areas are very nice also (music, large leather sofa very comfortable, pool...). The food at the bar is excellent and not expensive at all, and the map of meals and drinks is very varied.

The staff is helpful and friendly, there are even organized evenings (open mic, evening quiz, billiards... tournaments).

Considering the price it is great luxury, and in ease of use and more!

excellent hostel clean, fully equipped and very conviviable that allows to meet and to enjoy the evening in the best pubs of Edinburgh located 100 m from the hostel.

The team is smiling and welcoming and the bar/restaurant eat and drink for cheap. I very highly recommend.

An excellent Inn, conveniently located in the city, almost on Grassmarket and 2 steps from Royal Mile. A professional and warm, staff rooms and own sanitary. The most: the restoration to the ROC space and its bar. A Counsellor and re-Advisor.

Good atmosphere, helpful staff, but strong ultra music permanently, so no way to discuss on skype or other... Otherwise very well located! I recommend, therefore, this address has all fetards!

une atmosphère chaleureuse, conviviale est vraiment représentative de cette auberge accueillante. Le personnel est très serviable. les chambres et commodités sont propres et pratiques.

seul petit point négatif: pensez à prendre des boules quiès pour le samedi soir où le bruit est assez époustouflant, surtout si vous êtes au 3ème étage dans les dortoirs!!!

Buena situación, cómodo y limpio. Sin problemas.

I stayed at westend during The Fringe, i travelled alone and stayed there for 2 nights in a room for 18 people, mixed. The room was nice, though the beds are terribly squiky. I just needed a place to sleep and the westend was perfectly suitable for this purpose.

Charmant petit hotel dans un quartier up à 5-10 minutes du centre, l'accueil est vraiment sympa! Grande cuisine neuve mise à dispo plus un acces internet gratuit dans une salle commune. Seul pb, le dortoire reste... un dortoire! bruit, lumiere, et sécu il faut tjr faire gaffe! bref c'est classe, c'est propre, bon rapport qualité prix!

If you can get a bed this is the best Hostel I've ever stayed in, the owner and people were awesome. This is a small hostel great for one person travelers very social and really a great place to meet other travelers. Can't say enough good things.

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience staying in last weekend. I prebooked the hostel for 4 bed dorm but when we arrived on 31st March, didn't get it. We were provided a 6 bed dorm with one other group. The quality of the room is also very poor. In our next visit, I am sorry but we definitely not gonna stay in this hostel.

A l'occasion d'un match du tournoi des 6 nations, nous avons passé 3 nuits dans cette auberge de jeunesse.

Les prestations étaient à la hauteur du prix, c'est à dire très basses.

Chambres très petites, 1 douche par pallier (soit une douche pour 30 personnes environ). Salle de petit déjeuner où on rentrait à 10 maximum...

Heureusement qu'on a passé 90% de notre temps dehors.

I spent a very scottish night in your youth hostel, indeed the wind was blowing, the castle seemed animed by the old spirits of Scotland .

I recommend this place which is cosy, I really apreciate the place where we can take a sit in a sofa and playning guitar and listenning some old vinyles.

Conveniently located in Edinburgh. We arrived Saturday night, and therefore parking meter free until Monday morning (£1 the half-hour otherwise...). Room for two small and relatively expensive. Cleanliness: nickel. Only negative point, a breakfast proposed (a piece of bread, a bowl of cereal, 1 glass of orange juice) and no Kfe alos in the BB, it was a super breakfast which was that it was not eating lunch.

Great location, clean, tidy and free wi-fi. I stayed in two different rooms whilst I was here, a 4-bed attic room and a 10-bed dorm. Both were relatively comfortable although there was very limited space to put anything in the 10-bed room i.e. my bag would just about squish under the bottom bunk bed but this meant disturbing the occupant. Not overly pleased about the powercut mid-shower either but I guess these things happen!

Great views and the staff were friendly; make sure you explore the place I only found the 'posh lounge' on my last day!

Hostel all simply fabulous! Clean (daily full cleaning), friendly communal atmosphere see "family", personal to the top, always close to make service! Amazing kitchen, everything necessary (see!) and impeccable organization! Extremely well placed, best value for money can be found, they could double the price that I would not be shocked!

We have spent very good time, there is some that I'd go back, in addition the city is superb! Recommend a 200pourcent either as a couple or with friends.

Only negative point, the downright Naing wifi (bug connection to death, but it is free so I won't complain) and the pool slightly badly placed for the followers.

Hostel and staff very warm, concerned about our comfort. Room, bathroom and common room very pleasant, safe and good atmosphere. High street hostel is essential Edinburgh hostel (cool pattern!)

Really super place to stay! Excellent value for money, very helpful staff in giving advice on how to explore Edinburgh. The rooms were warm, clean (including all 3 bathrooms and kitchen) and there was a relaxed atmosphere. Only 10-15 minutes walk into town centre so near to all attractions, shopping and transport links. If you are looking for somewhere very cheap and very cheerful to stay in Edinburgh, Light House Hostel is highly recommended!

Super auberge! A 20min à pied du centre, très propre, super accueil et très bonne ambiance, calme, on s'y sent comme chez soit... La maison est super mignonne, il y a une grande cuisine pour se faire à manger ou prendre le petit déjeuner, plusieurs salles de bains propres et accueillantes avec gel douche et shampoing à disposition, les chambres sont aussi sympa et clean, il y a un grand salon avec pleins de canapés, un ordinateur avec wifi dans toute la maison, un projecteur pour se regarder des films le soir venu. Le manager est quelqu'un de très arrangeant. Bref, rien a redire sur cette auberge, si vous voulez partir à Édimbourg je vous la recommande vivement!

My friends and I, we love the place!

Hmmmm its was the nice and very nice trip we booked the place Christopher inn the location was perfectly fine its in the middle of the city and very near to rail station but the thing i dont like is, we booked most 6 beds the room was droam remove small as and they said about the internet access but it did'not come to 4th floor. Other thing like break fast is good but u have to be quick to grasp your breakfast they didnt offer after 10. Staff was nice and really very cool and helpful if u need any kind of help. Problem with an internet access otherwise it was really nice room just place when u check the size of the room if your going to booked more than 6 or 6 person.

We have occupied the House 14 5 nights pimple is impeccable: service, breakfast, cleanliness and especially many of kindness on the part of all these young people.Thank you has you all d have made our stay so enjoyable.

Our room was right above the bar and really noisy. We asked to move but were told we would have to move around each night if we did and they could find us a room. Doors banged until late into the night.

I couldn't get internet on my laptop in the bar and nobody helped. It wasn't very friendly, unlike Edinburgh in general, which is very friendly.

The beds were more uncomfortable than usual youth hostel beds.

the hotel was nice , but there was gross mismanagement on the part of manager. After booking our room, i was told that the hotel is overbooked and for one night we have been shifted to a different hotel but a similar en suite room.To my surprise the room was not on en suite and the service of that hotel was not great.

We were also not told about luggage charges and since the check in was at 2 pm the next day at Merrill house . We left our luggage there and went out, only to be told later that luggage charges apply,

So while the rooms were nice the service was pathetic to say the least
